• Question: could humans evolve into fish?

      Given long enough time periods we could potentially evolve into something that could live underwater, but we’d still be mammals. So we’d be closer to dolphins and whales, but still not fish! Our evolutionary branches diverged a very long time ago, and barring intentional genetic manipulation I don’t think we’d evolve enough similarities to rightfully be called fish again.

      I doubt it. As Ed says, we’ve evolved on a completely different branch to fish so it seems unlikely we would end up in the same evolutionary state.

      Like Ed says – evolution goes only forward, not backward.
