      So particles are the fundamental building blocks of matter, so if there were no particles in the world, there would be no world at all! Everything around us is built up of billions of particles that have specific properties and we study these particles on the smallest scale to try and understand the Universe!

      Well, without particles, we would’t be talking right now. We are made of them, so is everything we can see around us. I would’t say we need them – we ARE them.

      As the others said, we are particles! They make up everything around us, and us too! We also use them in medical science for treatments, so studying them isn’t completely useless haha!
