I look at fundamental particles. So in essence, I look at the whole world since everything is made of these particles and if we can understand how they work, then we will be one step closer to understanding the universe!

Somewhat counter-intuitively, I go deep underground to look at space! We are looking for dark matter, which is a mysterious particle that (we think) makes up nearly 25% of the mass of the universe, and yet hardly interacts with anything. To detect it, we need really sensitive detectors that are protected from all other kinds of radiation. A good way to get this protection is to go underground, where the rock above our heads absorbs loads of radiation!

But then I do some experiments actually looking at the rocks as well.
